Paul Coles & more

It was a privilege to attend Paul Coles’ surprise leaving party at the Edge last night. He will be missed [As will Fiona- Let us not forget her!] He had no idea and was very surprised when he arrived. Was lovely to hear the Edge kids express what Paul & Fiona meant to them and the difference they made in their lives. Sad to see them go but they will be a true blessing for Romania- Not to mention Romania Team 2007!!

More news:

- Ukraine have qualified for the knock out stages of the World cup!! After beating Tunisia 1 – 0
- Our team: Dave, Jen, Mike, Adam, Dave Smyth & myself came second in a pub quiz with a little help from my friend!
- I go to Ukraine with the team tomorrow week can’t believe its time to go back!

Life

A wee bit about the past week or 2:

- I got chased by an Alsation dog while out on my bike- that’ll make you pedal like 3 men and a wee lad! As well as take a year or 2 off your life!

- Saw The Da Vinci Code was disappointed, was hard to follow even though I had read the book. We also got shouted during it for no reason by some old doll! Well maybe for no reason we did have our feet up but she could have been more polite!

- Bought all the sports equipment for Ukraine Team.

- I've a good idea what I'm doing in September

- Loving the world cup. Without my homeland involved. I’m supporting my second home: Ukraine they take on the might of Spain tomorrow! Their very first World Cup finals game- EVER! My prediction- Spain 1- 2 Ukraine.

Apart from that I’m enjoying the weather and being finished studying for the rest of my life!

Cycling

After taking my bike to Castlewellen for the church weekend I got an urge to take up cycling or at least do it more often. I’ve been out the past few days and have feared for my life several times. I got my bike 9-10 years ago and it’s been in my garage for the past 5 at least. So when I'm flying at what feels like break neck speed down a hill I feel like I’m riding a cool running’s toboggan style bicycle and it’s going to fall apart at any second. Also the gears at times change by themselves which also for a spilt second I think I’m going to hit tarmac. My furthest so far is 8 miles I like cycling better than running although I’m sure cycling is counter productive when one is meant to be running the Lisburn 10k in a matter of weeks!
