Ukraine 06

I booked the flights this week for the Ukraine. A total of 21 from the church and 8 ukraine summerservers will leave for Ukraine on 1st July. So here it begins- Meetings, questions, team building, fundraising, stress... [Would'nt have it any other way]

But its all worth it meet Lyila:

Lyila was in my camp group last year. I got an email from Vitally our Ukrainian leader and told me that Lyila and her parents [Who are both doctors] came up to the front of their church on Sunday and gave their lives to God! This is whats its all about. Slava Bogu!

3 Interviews : 2 Days

I had 3 interviews inside 2 days this week. My first interview was for the orange phone shop in Lisburn, the second later that day for Samaritans purse and the third interview on Thursday was a call back by Orange. I have to wait until after Easter to hear about either job. If I got the orange job it would just be a wee part time gig until I got a proper job i.e. Samaritans Purse! Although for orange it goes against me that I’m finishing bible college in May as they don’t think ill be a long term employee [Hopefully they’re right] as ill be looking for a more suitable full time job.

I have also opened myself up to working outside of Northern Ireland and infact outside of the UK. There is a couple of jobs right up my street in the states one in Wisconsin a few hours north of where I was in January and one in Colorado. Will be interesting and exciting to see how the next few months pan out.

Freeness!

I don’t know why this has gone unbloged before but since becoming a student again and especially a jobless student I have started to help train dentists from Queens university at the School of dentistry. The up side of this is that it’s free the downside the work takes longer. I started to feel slight pain a few days ago in the lower jaw and decided ill get on the ball and sorted out before it gets worse. I phoned up no appointment until 22nd May! [Obviously people are catching on to the freeness of it all!] But when I mentioned pain they said come on down 9am on Friday and we’ll sort you out and sort me out they did was very pleased with the work the nurse even rubbed my arm while I was being frozen. I do though have a temporary filling until 22nd May which makes my mouth and everything I eat/drink taste of clove but its all good I’m still thinking about the freeness.

Also this afternoon I had a mock interview for a job I’m going for with Samaritan’s Purse. Was good to think through some question answers and get some tips from an experienced interviewer. All I have to do now is go sell myself! The interview is on Wednesday 12th at 2.30 location? Belfast Bible College turns out I’ve the home advantage! Would appreciate prayers for the interview it really would be an amazing job one that I would love!

SY Weekend' 06

58 of us headed up to Sheep island view youth hostel in Ballintoy on the North Coast at the weekend, a great time was had by all. The theme of the weekend was seeking God with all our hearts which the young people seemed to respond well too. Weekend activies included a trip accross Carricarede rope bridge, late night walks, table quiz, video camera challenge with lots of craic and banter along the way. Weekend highlights include my team getting escorted out of a shopping centre by security during the video camera challenge for climbing up a plastic tree, "Is the banter over yet?", the thousands of stars on view during a alte night walk including a shooting star, good honest conversations, Fiona Story the trusted wing man, getting to know some of the young people better, there being no mobile phone reception, "When the roll is called up wonder ill be there", and spending a weekend in beauty of the North coast.
